| Welcome to the Tier 1 training resource, Everybody’s BusinessIt has become apparent that across England there is some disparity in the delivery of mental health training to workers in tier 1, or universal services. Whilst some areas had well developed local or regional programmes, others had nothing. There was a clear need for a standard approach. The idea for a national core training resource came from Jane Sedgewick, CAMHS Regional Development Worker for Yorkshire and Humber Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP), who is the national lead for the National CAMHS Support Service (NCSS) for tier 1 development. With a grant from the CAMHS workforce programme a workshop was set up to which a large number of people already involved in delivering tier 1 training were invited. The original Everybody’s Business training package resource is based on the combined effort from the workshop attendees, using their considerable experience and ideas, with Yvonne Anderson from HASCAS co-ordinating the results and acting in an editing role. OCB Media have converted this resource into an on-line learning resource with NCSS acting as writers and editors of the text. Many people contributed their own tried and tested material for the original training resource, whose names are: Where people gave their own work and it is used in its entirety, you will see the contributor name/s acknowledged on any handouts.
